What do you get when you combine a scenic venue with delicious food and fabulous cider? That's right - you get the first joint Brambles and Left Field Cider Co. event and I'm thrilled that I was invited to write about it.
Spoiler alert: It was every bit as fantastic as expected and I'm already looking forward to the next event.
When Brambles co-owner Sarah Molnar had the chance to attend the Forum for Women Entrepreneurs together with Kate Garthwaite, the idea for a joint event was born. Inspired by the stories of successful female entrepreneurs, the two wanted to showcase their talents and products together and the date was set for August 7th.
I arrived a bit early for the event to chat about the menu and take a peek inside the cider house.
While I got a sneak peek (ok, a sneak taste...) of the assorted appetizers (filled red cherry peppers and puff pastry with cheese - yum!), it wasn't easy to wait for dinner to start... seared scallops, braised pork belly, pork tenderloin with plum chutney and summer vegetables - naturally delicious, the typical Brambles way - who would want to wait? Not me, but a refreshing Pimms & Cider cup was a welcome distraction during the wait.
I also got a chance to snap a few more picture of the women who put on this fanastic event: Sarah & Dorothy Molnar and Kate & Theresa Garthwaite.
It was a sold out event and along with the fresh and delicious Brambles food, guests enjoyed Little Dry Cider as well as (for the very first time!) the Cidermaker's Select Burbon Barrel Fermented Cider - a perfect combination with pork belly, who would have thought?
Desert was equally amazing - grilled peach with hazelnut meringue, paired with Cidermaker's Blush Cocktail. I could, however, only take a short moment to snap a picture of my desert, before my husband (who is not a desert fan) tried to eat mine as well...
All in all, it was a great evening. Great food, great cider, great atmosphere, great... you get the point, right? You should definitely attend the next Brambles event (stay up to date on the latest events here or connect with Brambles on Facebook)!
